Trilateral Contact Group to meet on March 1 - Martin Sajdik

The Trilateral Contact Group (TCG) to settle the situation in Donbas, eastern Ukraine will hold its next meeting on March 1.

Martin Sajdik, Special Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office in Ukraine and in the TCG said this at a press briefing on February 15, 112 Ukraine TV Channel reported.

“Our next meeting is scheduled for March 1,” he said.

Members of the Trilateral Contact Group on its meeting on February 15 reached a new agreement on the withdrawal of heavy weapons before February 20.

Earlier, Darka Olifer, press secretary of Ukrainian representative to the TCG and former Ukrainian President Leonid Kuchma, informed that the humanitarian subgroup decided to address the UN Human Rights Monitoring Mission with a request to become mediators in the process of exchange of captives so that to verify whether those citizens would like to return to the territories of separate areas of Donetsk and Luhansk regions, or they would like to stay in the Ukrainian government controlled territories.

According to the latest data, militants demand that 700 convicted persons be released in exchange for 50 captives on their side.
