President: We must support increasing demand for Ukrainian weapons

President Petro Poroshenko emphasized the necessity of increasing the volume of export of Ukrainian weapons and developing the program of upgrade of productive asset of defense enterprises.
This has been reported by the press service of the Head of State.
“We must back up the increasing demand for Ukrainian weapons. I emphasize that we do not sell unlike several ex-ministers of defense. Today, we firmly conquer the market with Ukrainian types of weapons,” the Head of State noted.
At the same time, the President reminded that the national defense items were created by the production assets with deterioration at the level of 67%, and at some enterprises – 80%.
The President emphasized that “only due to the exports contracts, the most advanced Ukrainian developments do not stay in drawers, but bring 2% of the whole export of Ukraine. The task is to increase this indicator as a source of foreign exchange earnings”.
