Defense Ministry: 6,000 personnel already demobilized

A total of 6,000 military personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other military units have been dismissed within another wave of demobilization.

Ukrainian Deputy Defense Minister Ivan Rusnak said during an hour of questions to the government in the Verkhovna Rada, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“At present 6,000 [military men] have been dismissed, the rest are planned to be dismissed by the end of this April,” he said.

The first deputy defense minister also said that all financial payments would be paid off to all the dismissed servicemen.

Rusnak also recalled that to fulfill the presidential decree on the demobilization of servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other military units, on the whole it is planned to dismiss 45,000 military personnel, of whom 42,000 servicemen of the Armed Forces.
