The Canadian Defense Minister also congratulated Canadian servicemen who would be soon deployed to Ukraine for the operation.

“With the return of the troops based in Petawawa, I am pleased to see additional soldiers deploying from Valcartier to offer continued support to the Ukrainian Armed Forces under Operation UNIFIER,” Sajjan said.

Starting from August 2015, 200 Canadian military specialists have been training Ukrainian soldiers. According to agreements between the Ukrainian and the Canadian defense ministries, this training mission will go on till March 2017.
