NABU to create special unit to investigate healthcare corruption

The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) in the near future will create a subdivision that will investigate criminal cases in the healthcare system.

NABU Director Artem Sytnyk said this following the signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation between the NABU and the Ukrainian Health Ministry, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

“It is planned to create a special detective unit that will specialize in investigating criminal proceedings relating to corruption at healthcare facilities,” Sytnyk said.

According to him, 50 detectives soon will be selected to form the new special unit. Sytnyk also assured that the NABU will be a reliable partner for the Health Ministry.
