According to Ukrinform, police spokesperson for the Małopolska Voivodeship Katarzyna Cisło announced the arrest, as cited by RMF24.

Cisło said investigators gathered evidence of the man's activity on social media and charged him with public incitement to commit murder and insulting the President of Ukraine.

During questioning, the suspect admitted his guilt and expressed remorse.

"The man explained to the police that he acted under the influence of emotion and regretted what he had done," Cisło said.

The charges carry a maximum penalty of up to three years in prison.

The pre-trial investigation is being conducted under the supervision of the District Prosecutor's Office in the town of Muszyna in southern Poland.

As reported by Ukrinform, last year, former chief of the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) Vasyl Maliuk said the SSU had thwarted two assassination attempts against President Volodymyr Zelensky – one at Rzeszów Airport in Poland and another at the Office of the President in Kyiv.
