Poland detains over 140 illegal migrants in special operation, including 91 Ukrainians
The operation, conducted on March 2–3, was reported Wednesday on the official page of the Polish police.
Of the more than 140 detainees, deportation procedures have been initiated in approximately 110 cases due to illegal stay in Poland, and in over 20 cases due to a threat to national security.
According to authorities, nearly 26,500 police officers and more than 700 Border Guard personnel participated in the March 2–3 actions.

Overall, Polish law enforcement, as part of the large-scale operation, detained 1,944 individuals wanted under arrest warrants or compulsory delivery orders, including 147 foreigners sought by Polish authorities. Among them were 91 Ukrainian citizens, 14 from Georgia, eight from Belarus, three from Moldova, two from Russia, and 29 from other countries.
In total, the police submitted 112 requests to the Border Guard for decisions on returning foreigners to their home countries.
The police emphasized that this was the fourth nationwide operation targeting individuals evading Polish law enforcement or courts, and the first this year.

During the three previous operations in February, June, and November of last year, 4,766 people were detained, including 515 foreigners.
As reported by Ukrinform, the President of Poland, Karol Nawrocki, approved the termination of the 2022 special law providing assistance to Ukrainian citizens who arrived in Poland after the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
