Shooting occurs in Kyiv, patrol officers stop driver showing signs of drug intoxication

“The man has been detained: An investigation team is working at the scene, and patrol officers are compiling the relevant administrative documents,” the report said.
According to law enforcement officials, on Friday, while on patrol, they stopped a Mazda car in the Sviatoshynskyi district of the city for violating traffic rules. While talking to the driver, the inspectors noticed signs of drug intoxication.
"After checking the information about the car and the citizen, we found that the vehicle was wanted by the State Criminal Enforcement Service, and the driver had been deprived of his right to drive by a court decision for driving while intoxicated. The man behaved aggressively and refused to undergo a sobriety test," the report said.
As noted, while the administrative materials were being drawn up, the driver rammed into a service vehicle and fled the scene.
"The inspectors began pursuit and blocked the car on Povitrianykh Syl Avenue. However, the driver continued to flee. To forcibly stop the vehicle in accordance with Part 4, Paragraph 7, Article 46 of the Law of Ukraine “On the National Police,” the patrol officers used their service firearms and stopped the fugitive's car," the police said.
They added that no one was injured as a result of the shooting.
As reported by Ukrinform, a drunk driver of a Porsche Cayenne who caused a traffic accident and opened fire was detained in Kyiv.
