Knife attack at school in Kyiv: Student's actions considered attempted murder
According to Ukrinform, this was reported by the Kyiv Police Communications Department.
It has been established that on the morning of Monday, January 12, a 9th-grade student, while at school, put on a pre-prepared mask and helmet in the bathroom, then ran into the classroom and attacked a 39-year-old homeroom teacher and a 14-year-old classmate with a knife.
Preliminarily, the child was diagnosed with multiple cuts on his back and forearms, and the woman with stab wounds to her hands and abdomen.
Both victims were hospitalized. The severity of their injuries is being determined.
After committing the crime, the 14-year-old boy locked himself in the bathroom and stabbed himself in the arm and abdomen with a knife.
He is currently in a hospital, where he is receiving treatment.
Investigators from the Obolon Police Department have opened a criminal case under Part 2 of Article 15 and Part 2 of Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (attempted murder of two or more persons).
The motive for the crime will be established during the pre-trial investigation.
During the investigation, law enforcement officers found correspondence on the attacker's phone, presumably with Russian special services.
As reported by Ukrinform, police in Kyiv are investigating the circumstances of an attack at a school in which one of the students stabbed a teacher and a classmate with a knife.
