In the case concerning the killing of Iryna Farion, the physical evidence has been examined. However, the weapon used in the murder has still not been located.

This was reported by Suspilne Lviv, as cited by Ukrinform.

“On Tuesday, 11 November, another hearing was held at the Shevchenkivskyi District Court of Lviv City as part of the case against Viacheslav Zinchenko, who is accused of killing Iryna Farion. The court began examining physical evidence, including a cartridge case found at the crime scene. The weapon used to kill Farion has not been found,” the report says.

It is noted that the following physical evidence was examined during the court hearing: Scent traces from the surface of a bench; scent traces from chair No. 1; scent traces from chair No. 2; swabs from the surface of the bench cover; swabs from chairs No. 1 and No. 2; a cartridge case marked 9×18; swabs from the surface of the left and right palms of Viacheslav Zinchenko; and a mobile phone seized during a search at the defendant’s residence.

After the examination of the physical evidence, a witness was interrogated, the owner of the apartment on 2 Kostiushka Street, where the defendant had rented a room.

Zinchenko’s lawyer also submitted another motion requesting that three additional witnesses be heard. He drew the court’s attention to the defence’s belief that these witnesses may be subjected to pressure by law enforcement officers or by other individuals “interested in the swiftest possible consideration of this case without clarification of the factual circumstances.” One of the witnesses, he said, had received threats concerning the life and health of himself and his child, urging him not to appear in court.

The report states that the next hearing will take place on 13 November.

As reported by Ukrinform, the court has interrogated an anonymous witness in the case concerning the Farion murder.
