That’s according to the press service of the Specialized Anti-corruption Prosecutor's Office, Ukrinform reports.
"The investigating judge of the High Anti-Corruption Court partially satisfied the motion of National Anti-corruption Bureau’s detectives, endorsed by the Prosecutor General, and ruled on a preventive measure in the form of custody remand, with the alternative of paying UAH 30 million in bail, for the people's deputy, who the day before was exposed for receiving an illegal benefit for leasing state land to a private entrepreneur," the statement reads.
It is noted that the suspect was taken into custody in the courtroom in compliance with the court ruling.
As reported, the Security Service of Ukraine, jointly with the National Anti-corruption Bureau, exposed a serving People's Deputy of Ukraine, who for an illicit benefit of $85,000 "sold" the land of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences. According to mass media, the lawmaker in question is Andrii Hunko.
