President Poroshenko: SBU prevented 30 terror attacks in 2016

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko says that the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) in 2016 prevented 30 potential terror attacks in Ukraine.

The President stated this during solemn events dedicated to the 25th anniversary of SBU, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

“Last year SBU prevented more than 30 terror attacks, detained 56 sabotage and reconnaissance groups, intercepted 15 attempts of putting explosive devices," Poroshenko said.

The President also added that SBU identified 46 people involved in the activities of international extremist and terrorist organizations, of which 15 were on Interpol’s wanted list
