SBU reveals group of swindlers claiming to be SBU officers in Odesa region

In Odesa region, the SBU Internal Security Department revealed a group of swindlers who claimed to be SBU officers and demanded big sums of money from local businessmen threatening with criminal prosecution.
This has been reported by the press service of the Security Service of Ukraine.
The sums demanded started from USD 150,000. In the process of searches in the apartments of the criminals the law enforcers confiscated documents and materials that evidence their illegal activity.
A criminal case under Part 2 Article 189 (blackmail) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine was launched.
Urgent investigative actions are under way.
The issue of notifying the criminals of suspicion and choosing a measure of restraint is being settled.
