Shokin to personally check on investigation into death of inmate in Lukyanivska jail

Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin has taken under his personal oversight the pre-trial investigation in the criminal case of prisoner M. Kolesnykov’s death in the Kyiv Lukyanivska jail. The press service f the PGO told Ukrinform.
"Viktor Shokin has ordered chiefs of the Kyiv Prosecutor’s office to report to him personally on the course of the investigation," a statement said.
As a reminder, information about the specified incident was registered in the unified register of pre-trial investigation on the grounds of a criminal offense -premeditated murder - by the investigation department of Kyiv Shevchenkivsky police main department.
The procedural guidance of pre-trial investigation is undertaken by Kyiv city local prosecutor's office number 10.
