KYIV, July 17 /Ukrinform/. A Russian military plane shot down a Su-25 aircraft of the Ukrainian Armed Forces on Wednesday, July 16.
National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) spokesman Andriy Lysenko said this at a briefing at Ukrinform on Thursday.
"Russia committed another provocation on July 16 at about 19.00. A military plane of the Russian Armed Forces launched a missile strike against a Su-25 aircraft of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, which performed tasks on Ukrainian territory. Our plane was shot down," he said.
According to Lysenko, a Ukrainian pilot ejected and was evacuated to safety by units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The pilot sustained no injuries.
