According to Ukrinform, this information is contained in a Facebook post by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine regarding the situation as of 8:00 a.m. on August 5.

The enemy launched one missile strike using two missiles and carried out 89 airstrikes, dropping 295 guided bombs.

In addition, the invaders deployed 10,709 kamikaze drones and carried out 3,214 shelling attacks.

Artillery shelling targeted Korenok, Buniakyne, Ryzhivka, Yastrubyne, Stepanivka, Ulanove, Pustohorod, and Bezsalivka in the Sumy region.

The areas of Sumy and Novi Vyrky in the Sumy region were subjected to airstrikes.

The Defense Forces’ Air Force, Missile Forces, and Artillery struck six areas where enemy personnel were concentrated, five artillery systems, and two Russian drone command posts.

In the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk sectors, the Defense Forces repelled three enemy assaults. At the same time, the Russians carried out two airstrikes using four guided aerial bombs and conducted 63 shelling attacks, including two from multiple launch rocket systems.

In the Southern Slobozhanshchyna sectors, Ukrainian units repelled 23 enemy attacks. Russian invaders attempted to advance in the areas of Starytsia, Lyman, Izbytske, and Kozacha Lopana, as well as in the directions of Kovalivka, Okhrimivka, Chorne, Khatne, Mytrofanivka, and Ivashchyne.

In the Kupiansk sector, the enemy did not carry out any assault operations.

In the Lyman sector, Russian troops launched 14 attacks in the areas of Lyman, Dibrova, Ozerne, and Stavky, as well as toward Cherneshchyna, Olhivka, Shyikivka, and Drobysheve.

In the Sloviansk sector, the enemy carried out 19 assault operations in the areas of Zakitne, Kryva Luka, and Riznykivka, as well as toward Rai-Oleksandrivka and Pyskunivka.

In the Kramatorsk sector, Russian forces launched three attacks toward Fedorivka Druha, Nykyforivka, and Markove.

In the Kostiantynivka sector, 22 enemy attacks were reported. The invaders carried out assaults in the areas of Kostiantynivka, Illinivka, and Ivanopillia, as well as toward Novoselivka and Novopavlivka.

In the Pokrovsk sector, the Defense Forces repelled 27 attacks. The enemy was active in the areas of Rodynske and Kotlyne and carried out assaults toward Novooleksandrivka, Toretsk, Shakove, Sofiivka, Chernihivka, Hannivka, Novyi Donbas, Dobropillia, Shevchenko, Vasylivka, Udachne, and Novopidhorodne.

In the Oleksandrivka sector, the Russian army carried out three attacks toward Novoheorhiivka, Rybne, and Piddubne.

In the Huliaipole sector, Russian forces launched 16 attacks, attempting to advance near Huliaipilske, Zaliznychne, and Hirke, as well as toward Vozdvyzhivka, Tsvitkove, Rizdvianka, Rivne, Staroukrainka, Charivne, and Yehorivka.

In the Orikhiv sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled three Russian attempts to advance toward Bilohiria, Pavlivka, and Plavni.

In the Prydniprovske sector, the enemy did not conduct any assault operations.

In the Volyn and Polissia sectors, no signs of the Russian Federation forming offensive groups were detected.

As reported by Ukrinform, the total combat losses of Russian troops since the start of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, from February 24, 2022, to August 5, 2026, amount to approximately 1,452,880 personnel.
