The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this on Facebook in its operational update as of 22:00 on Saturday, August 1, according to Ukrinform.

"Since the beginning of the day, there have been 193 combat engagements. The enemy launched three missile strikes using 31 missiles, carried out 66 airstrikes, and dropped 201 guided aerial bombs. In addition, Russian forces deployed 6,659 kamikaze drones and conducted 2,381 attacks on populated areas and Ukrainian military positions," the statement said.

In the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk sectors, Russian forces launched three attacks. They also carried out four airstrikes using 12 guided bombs and shelled Ukrainian positions and settlements 49 times, including four attacks using multiple launch rocket systems.

In the Southern Slobozhanshchyna sector, Russian troops launched 17 assaults near Kozacha Lopan, Radkivka, Volokhivka, Starytsia, Izbytske, and Ivashchyne.

No enemy assault operations were recorded in the Kupiansk sector.

In the Lyman sector, Russian forces attempted to advance 12 times near Lyman, Ozerne, Andriivka, Novomykhailivka, Shyikivka, Novoselivka, and Dibrova. Three engagements were still ongoing at the time of reporting.

In the Sloviansk sector, Ukrainian defenders successfully repelled 14 Russian attacks near Zakitne, Kryva Luka, Rai-Oleksandrivka, and Riznykivka. Three battles continued.

Three enemy assaults were recorded in the Kramatorsk sector near Pryvilne and Yurkivka.

In the Kostiantynivka sector, Ukrainian forces repelled 13 assaults near Ivanopillia, Kostiantynivka, Illinivka, and Stepanivka, while one engagement was still underway.

A total of 23 Russian attacks were repelled in the Pokrovsk sector. Russian troops attempted to advance near Sofiivka, Novopavlivka, Kucheriv Yar, Vilne, Nove Shakhove, Bilytske, Rodynske, Shevchenko, Novohryshyne, Hulyve, Kotlyne, and Udachne. Three engagements were ongoing.

According to preliminary estimates, 41 Russian soldiers were killed and 18 wounded in this sector during the day. Ukrainian forces destroyed two multiple launch rocket systems, two military vehicles, and one piece of special equipment. Five artillery systems and four additional vehicles were damaged. Ukrainian defenders also destroyed or suppressed 423 unmanned aerial vehicles of various types.

In the Oleksandrivka sector, Ukrainian troops repelled three Russian attacks near Rybne.

Six Russian assaults were recorded in the Huliaipole sector near Vozdvyzhivka and Tsvitkove.

No enemy assault operations were recorded in the Orikhiv or Prydniprovske sectors.

No significant changes were reported on the remaining fronts.

According to Ukrinform, the General Staff reported that in July 2026, Russian forces suffered their highest personnel losses of the year, totaling 42,860 troops.
