Russian missile destroys home in Radushne, killing parents and three children; fate of five others remains unknown
The head of state announced this on Facebook, according to Ukrinform.
“Today, the Russians destroyed an ordinary home belonging to an ordinary family in Radushne near Kryvyi Rih in our Dnipropetrovsk region with a ballistic missile strike. It was the Voronov family: mother Olena, father Artem, seven children—Mark, Dominika, Zakhar, Azariy, Ilay, Federica, Emilia, and Viorika—and their one-and-a-half-year-old grandson Artem, the child of their eldest son, who is currently defending Ukraine. “As of now, it is known for certain that the parents and three children—Mark, Azariy Eli, and Emilia—were killed,” Zelensky said.
According to him, the Russian missile strike was so powerful that almost nothing remained of the house; fragments of human bodies were found under the rubble, and only forensic examinations can determine which family members the remains belong to. “The fate of Zachariah, Dominika, Viorika, Federica, and Artem is currently being determined. This is a horrific crime of Russia’s war against Ukraine—against ordinary people, against ordinary life,” the President said.
He emphasized that this Russian evil can only be stopped by the entire world. “No one in the world can be left to face such terror alone. And when we say that Ukraine needs missiles for the ‘Patriots,’ when we seek the capability to defend ourselves against Russian ballistic missiles, we are not talking about abstractions. We are talking specifically about these families, about these very people who can survive if we have the means to shoot down Russian missiles—if our partners help with interceptors. Families who may perish if there is nothing to stop the Russian ‘Iskanders,’” the head of state emphasized.
He noted that it is important for decision-makers—those at the Pentagon, in European capitals, and everywhere in the world where there is an opportunity to help Ukraine protect lives—to see these people.
“The reality speaks for itself. We need to protect lives. We need missiles for air defense,” Zelensky concluded.
As previously reported, July 31 was declared a day of mourning in Kryvyi Rih for those killed in the Russian missile strike on the village of Radushne.
