According to Ukrinform, the Kherson Regional Local History Museum reported this on Facebook.

It is noted that the Russian strikes caused a fire in the museum’s service rooms.

“The building itself and the unique antique display cases from the early 20th century were damaged. Made of natural wood, they had retained the warmth of the hands of several generations of museum workers for 120 years and were eventually to become exhibits themselves,” the post reads.

The museum added that the collections, which were evacuated to safe locations in time, were not damaged.

“This strike is yet another act of barbarism and deliberate destruction of Kherson’s historic center. The enemy is systematically attempting to erase our cultural heritage and memory by destroying what has been created and preserved by generations,” the museum staff emphasized.

As previously reported, some of the exhibits stolen by the Russians from the Kherson Art Museum are rotting in a basement in Henichesk.
