War update: 127 clashes since morning, Pokrovsk direction remains most active
This was reported by Ukrinform, citing operational information from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 22:00 on April 22, 2026, on Facebook.
"In total, 127 combat clashes have occurred since the start of this day. The enemy carried out 44 airstrikes, dropping 151 guided aerial bombs. In addition, they used 5,650 kamikaze drones and conducted 2,362 shellings of populated areas and our troop positions," the report states.
In the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk directions, the enemy carried out 105 shellings of populated areas and our positions, five of which involved multiple launch rocket systems. In addition, they conducted two airstrikes using six guided bombs.
In the Southern Slobozhanshchyna direction, the enemy twice assaulted our units' positions toward the settlements of Bochkovе and Okhrimivka. One engagement is ongoing.
In the Kupiansk direction, our defenders repelled four enemy assaults near the settlements of Petropavlivka and Kivsharivka.
In the Lyman direction, Ukrainian forces stopped two attempts by the invaders to advance near Drobyshеve and Dibrova.
In the Sloviansk direction, Ukrainian troops repelled two assault actions by the occupiers near Yampol.
In the Kramatorsk direction, our defenders successfully repelled an enemy attack near Nykyforivka.
In the Kostiantynivka direction, defense Forces repelled 17 enemy assaults near Kostiantynivka, Pleshchiivka, Oleksandro-Shultyne, Ivanopillia, and Illinivka.
In the Pokrovsk direction, the enemy carried out 30 attacks. The occupiers attempted to advance near the settlements of Sofiivka, Novopavlivka, Toretske, Rodynske, Filiia, Shevchenko, Myrnohrad, Hryshyne, Kotlyne, Udachne, and toward Kucheriv Yar.
According to preliminary estimates, 65 occupiers were eliminated and 24 wounded in this direction today; three vehicles and 15 pieces of special equipment were destroyed, along with three personnel shelters. Four artillery systems, seven vehicles, and one piece of special equipment were damaged. A total of 143 unmanned aerial vehicles of various types were destroyed or suppressed.
In the Oleksandrivsk direction, the occupiers attempted five times to improve their position, attacking near the settlements of Oleksandrohrad, Vorone, and Kalynivske. The outskirts of Ivanivka were hit by airstrikes.
In the Huliaipole direction, there were 13 enemy attacks in the area of Huliaipole and near the settlements of Dobropillia, Hirke, Zaliznychne, Zelene, Staroukrainka, and Tsvitkove. The enemy carried out airstrikes near Verkhna Tersa, Kopani, Liubytske, Shyroke, Huliaipole, Staroukrainka, Tymoshivka, Tsvitkove, and Dolynka.
In the Orikhiv direction, the enemy advanced toward the settlement of Novoandriivka. Additionally, airstrikes were carried out near Komyshuvakha, Novorozivka, Yasna Poliana, and Yurkivka.
In the Prydniprovske direction, the enemy conducted two unsuccessful assault actions toward the Antonivskyi Bridge and Bilogrudyi Island.
As previously reported by Ukrinform, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi, during a working trip to the Pokrovsk direction, discussed the operational situation with commanders, where 688 attacks by Russian forces have been recorded since the beginning of April, and made decisions to reinforce Ukrainian units.
