Air Force neutralizes 345 out of more than 360 Russian drones since morning
According to Ukrinform, the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this on Telegram.
As noted, following overnight drone strikes on April 1, Russian forces carried out additional launches, from 08:00 to 18:00 on Wednesday, they attacked Ukraine with another 361 strike drones. About 250 of these new targets were identified as Shahed-type drones.
"Taking into account the night attack, from 18:00 on March 31 to 18:00 on April 1, 2026 (a notional 24-hour period), the enemy used more than 700 strike UAVs of the Shahed, Gerbera, and other types," the military reported.
Most of the drones during the day entered from the southeastern direction, heading west.
All available air defense assets were involved in repelling the attack, including manned aviation, anti-aircraft drones, electronic warfare units, and ground-based air defense systems.
Preliminary data as of 18:00 indicate that 345 enemy drones were shot down or suppressed. At the same time, 14 impacts were recorded, and there are casualties.
Combat operations are ongoing. Several enemy UAVs are still being detected in Ukrainian airspace.
As Ukrinform previously reported, in the Cherkasy district, a Russian drone attack damaged critical infrastructure and injured bus passengers.
