Ukrainian troops show evacuation of damaged ground robots from outskirts of Pokrovsk
A video of the evacuation of the robotic systems was posted on Facebook by the 25th Separate Airborne Sicheslav Brigade, according to Ukrinform.
“There are routes where no armored vehicles can go anymore. That’s where ground drones operate: delivering ammunition and supplies, and evacuating the wounded. You’ve seen many videos of UGVs delivering cargo or evacuating injured soldiers, but you’ve probably rarely seen how ‘wounded’ robots themselves are evacuated,” the brigade said.
They added that logistics through the kill zone are extremely difficult, with a constant risk of being stranded in the open field.
Ground robotic systems are critically important and expensive equipment that perform the most dangerous tasks and often become expendable on the battlefield.
“But we value our resources. We do not abandon our UGVs in the gray zone, because they still have work to do and more lives to save,” the Sicheslav paratroopers noted.
Earlier it was reported that soldiers of the 25th Separate Airborne Sicheslav Brigade destroyed a warehouse of Russian drones in Pokrovsk, Donetsk region, using a drone.
