War update: Russians carry out 42 attacks, Pokrovsk sector sees fiercest battles

According to Ukrinform, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this on Facebook, publishing operational information as of 16:00 on Saturday, March 7.

Today, the Russians shelled Bezsalivka, Volfyne, Vilcha, Sukhodil, Kucherivka, Kysla Dubyna, Boyaro-Lezhachi, Khodyne, Rohizne, Budky, Prohres, Iskryskivshchyna, Novovasylivka, and Bereza in the Sumy region.

In the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk sectors, the invaders have already struck settlements and positions of Ukrainian defenders 68 times, including twice with multiple launch rocket systems and three times with aviation. Among other things, they used eight guided aerial bombs.

In the Southern Slobozhanshchyna sector, Russian troops attacked three times toward Hrafske, Vilcha, and Zybyne. One assault is ongoing.

In the Kupiansk sector, the Russian army advanced twice toward Kivsharivka and Novoosynove.

In the Lyman sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled one enemy attempt to advance toward Serednie.

In the Sloviansk sector, the Russians made three attempts to advance on positions held by the Defense Forces toward Rai-Oleksandrivka, Platonivka, and Kalenyky. One of their attacks is ongoing.

In the Kramatorsk sector, the Russian army attacked toward Minkivka.

In the Kostiantynivka sector, Russian troops carried out nine offensive actions near Kostiantynivka, Pleshchiivka, Shcherbynivka, Illinivka, Sofiivka, and Novopavlivka. One battle is ongoing.

In the Pokrovsk sector, since the beginning of the day, the invaders have attempted 13 times to dislodge the Defense Forces from their positions in the areas of Novyi Donbas, Rodynske, Novooleksandrivka, Kotlyne, Udachne, Novomykolaivka, and Novopidhorodne. Two battles are ongoing.

In the Oleksandrivka sector, the Russians attacked three times toward Verbove and Novohryhorivka. They carried out air strikes on Pysanka, Pokrovske, and Chornenkove.

In the Huliaipole sector, the enemy carried out seven attacks in the areas of Dobropillia, Zaliznychne, Varvarivka, and Myrne. Two clashes are ongoing.

Russian aircraft struck in the areas of Svitla Dolyna, Zelena Dibrova, Kopani, Charivne, and Rivne.

In the Orikhiv sector, the invaders have not yet carried out active offensive operations today. Instead, they carried out air strikes on the areas of Veselianka and Malokaterynivka.

In the Prydniprovske sector, Russian troops have also not yet attempted to improve their position.

In other sectors, the situation has not changed significantly. There are no new attempts by the invaders to advance.

The Ukrainian troops are wearing down the enemy along the entire line of contact and in the rear.

As reported by Ukrinform, in the Kupiansk sector, paratroopers killed a group of Russian soldiers who were trying to lay mines in the Zahryzove area.
