USF destroys Russian Kasta radar system in Zaporizhzhia region
According to Ukrinform, the commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces, Robert "Magyar" Brovdi, stated this on Telegram.
According to him, "the birds of the Unmanned Systems Forces, together with the Special Operations Forces, destroyed the 'Kasta' radar on March 1 in the Zaporizhzhia region."
The Kasta 35N6 radar is part of an air defense system – a two-coordinate self-propelled radar station designed to monitor airspace, determine the coordinates of aerodynamic targets flying at extremely low altitudes, and manage air traffic. It can simultaneously detect up to 20 air targets per minute at ultra-low altitudes of up to 100 meters at a range of 44 km, and up to 6,000 meters at a range of 115 km, Brovdi emphasized.
"The 'Kasta' radar was hunted down by pilots of the 1st Center of the Unmanned Systems Forces and the 98th Center of the Special Operations Forces using small strike front drones, under reconnaissance provided by pilots of the 414th Separate Brigade 'Magyar's Birds,' in coordination with the Deep Strike Coordination Center of the Unmanned Systems Forces," he added.
As Ukrinform reported, on the night of March 1, the Unmanned Systems Forces destroyed an "Imbir" radar station and a transporter-loader vehicle of the S-300V surface-to-air missile system, deployed by Russian forces near the temporarily occupied city of Mariupol.
