Russia's shelling of Sumy region leaves five wounded over past day

Over the past day in the Sumy region, five people were injured as a result of shelling by the Russian army.

The Sumy Regional Military Administration reported this on Facebook, according to Ukrinform.

"As a result of Russian shelling of the region's territory over the past day, there are casualties among civilians. In the Mykolaivka rural community, due to a UAV attack, men aged 41 and 82 were injured, and a 57-year-old woman was affected. In the Sumy community, a 25-year-old man was injured as a result of an enemy drone attack. In the Seredyna-Buda community, a 42-year-old man was wounded due to a strike by an enemy drone," the statement says.

It is noted that over the day Russian troops carried out more than 90 shelling attacks on 28 settlements in 12 territorial communities of the region. The highest number of attacks was recorded in the Sumy and Shostka districts.

As a result of the shelling, civilian infrastructure facilities, residential buildings, outbuildings, and vehicles were damaged.

As Ukrinform reported, on the morning of February 28 in the Sumy region, Russian drones attacked a Ukrposhta vehicle in the Mykolaivka rural community, injuring two civilian men.
