On February 15, athlete, coach, and soldier Dmytro Rusetskyi was killed on the front lines while carrying out a combat mission near the village of Pysarivka in the Sumy region.

According to Ukrinform, Olga Pavlenko, president of the Kickboxing Federation of Ukraine, reported this on Instagram.

Dmytro Rusetskyi was the Ukrainian kickboxing champion, a World and European Cup medalist, and an international master of sports in WAKO kickboxing. In civilian life, he also worked as a coach, training young athletes and future champions.

"An incredibly talented athlete, mentor, and coach who dedicated his life to developing young people and training true champions. Dmytro was not only a strong fighter in the ring, but also a courageous defender of Ukraine. May the memory of this warrior, athlete, and Man with a capital letter live on. Heroes never die," said the Kickboxing Federation of Ukraine, expressing their condolences to the parents, relatives, and loved ones of the deceased athlete.

As reported by Ukrinform, Oleksandr Tlatov, a player for the Lviv Rugby Club Sokil, a candidate for master of sports of Ukraine, and a military serviceman, was killed in battle against Russian invaders.
