Russians attack three communities in Sumy region over past day; one person killed, another injured

Throughout the past day, Russian forces carried out a series of targeted strikes against civilians in three communities of the Sumy region, resulting in the death of one man and injuries to another.

According to Ukrinform, Oleh Hryhorov, Head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, stated this on Telegram.

In the Krasnopillia community, a Russian drone struck a civilian car near a private household. The driver, who was inside the vehicle, was killed on the spot.

Also in this community, an enemy drone attacked a vehicle in a funeral procession. The driver managed to leave the car in time and save himself.

In addition, during the day Russians attacked civilian transport in the starosta districts of the Sumy community.

In the Pishchanske district, a drone hit a garbage truck as well as a civilian car. There were no casualties.

In the Velyka Pysarivka community, a Russian drone struck near a store. A 61-year-old man was injured; he received medical assistance and will continue treatment on an outpatient basis.

As Ukrinform previously reported, due to the threat of Russian shelling of railway infrastructure facilities in the Sumy region, Ukrzaliznytsia has temporarily adjusted some routes.
