Swiss Foreign Minister Ignazio Cassis, who currently chairs the OSCE, and OSCE Secretary General Feridun Sinirlioglu visited the site of a Russian missile strike in Kyiv's Solomianskyi district, where 23 people were killed.

According to Ukrinform, Serhii Movenko, head of the Solomianskyi District State Administration in Kyiv, stated this on Facebook.

"I met with Swiss Foreign Minister Ignazio Cassis and OSCE Secretary General Feridun Sinirlioglu on Vaclav Havel Boulevard, at the site of one of the greatest tragedies in the Solomianskyi district. Here, a Russian missile destroyed an entrance section of a residential building. Twenty-three residents were killed," Movenko said.

He briefed Cassis and Sinirlioglu on the consequences of Russian attacks in the district, including those on June 17.

The Solomianskyi district has suffered the greatest damage to residential and civilian infrastructure as a result of Russian strikes. According to Movenko, about 40% of the district's housing stock has been damaged in 2025.

He explained to Cassis and Sinirlioglu how post-strike response efforts are organized: coordination among all services, assistance to victims, relocation of residents from damaged buildings, and the phased restoration of housing.

International and charitable organizations are actively involved in this work. Their support is especially important for local residents, Movenko emphasized.

Movenko thanked the OSCE leaders for their visit, for their support of Ukraine and the Solomianskyi district in particular, for concrete assistance to people, and for the shared pursuit of peace.

As Ukrinform previously reported, on February 2 Swiss Foreign Minister Ignazio Cassis, who chairs the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe, and OSCE Secretary General Feridun Sinirlioglu arrived in Kyiv on a visit.
