As of today, drones destroy 80% of enemy targets – Zelensky
He said this during the presentation of the initiative to assess the effectiveness of drone units, electronic points, Ukrinform reports, citing his Telegram channel.
"As of today, more than 80% of enemy targets are being destroyed by drones. The absolute majority are domestically produced drones and it is very encouraging that these are drones made in Ukraine. In just the past year alone, 819,737 targets were hit – hit by drones. And we clearly record every single hit. We also have points awarded for each hit, as you know firsthand. Our bonus based electronic points system is working to scale up the results of our defense," Zelensky noted.
He emphasized that Ukrainians currently have to be better, stronger, and more effective in their defense than Russians can be in attacking Ukraine. He stressed that leadership in technology is vital for Ukraine.
Zelensky said that a few years earlier the answers to the questions of who was stronger and who was more effective had been determined by the volume of artillery and the number of personnel. He noted that while artillery still mattered today, it did so in a different way, and that personnel, especially the infantry, continued to perform fundamental tasks. At the same time, he emphasized that the war itself was evolving and that success was becoming increasingly dependent on who was fastest and strongest in using and adapting technologies, as well as in accurately verifying what was happening on the battlefield.
Zelensky also presented state awards to service members and thanked them for their effectiveness and for all the results that give Ukraine greater strength.
As Ukrinform reported, during the war Ukraine has significantly increased its technological capabilities, and 90% of enemy losses are caused by drones.
