Operators of the Raid regiment of the Ukrainian Armed Forces' Unmanned Systems Forces struck a Russian “turtle tank” with drones on one of the hot spots of the front line.

Raid reported this on Facebook, publishing a video of the combat operation, Ukrinform reports.

According to the regiment, the Russians usually place “turtles” at the head of armored vehicle columns during massive mechanized assaults on Ukrainian positions.

The invaders mainly use T-62 and T-72 tanks to convert into “turtles.” Optionally, they can be equipped with anti-mine trawls.

“The very fact that the Russians have ‘turtles’ demonstrates the degree of degradation of the Russian Federation's armored units,” the military states.

The Russian military-industrial complex, as noted in Raid, has failed to create a full-fledged heavy armored personnel carrier similar to the Israeli Achzarit, which would provide reliable protection in modern warfare.

The welded “armor” indicates that the much-touted means of protecting tanks, such as the Arena, have proven ineffective.

The so-called armor leads to accelerated wear and tear on the chassis and other tank components. The Russian invaders themselves admit that their “turtles” often break down on the way to the deployment lines and are destroyed as a result of attacks.

As reported by Ukrinform, defenders destroyed cannons and the Aistyonok radar station, which the Russians used to reconnoiter the artillery and mortar positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, with drones.
