Russian drone attacks on Sumy region leave four people injured, including two children

In Ukraine’s Sumy region, four people, including two children, were injured on Sunday, January 25, as a result of enemy attacks.

The Sumy Regional Prosecutor’s Office reported this on Telegram, Ukrinform says.

“On January 25, 2026, at around 15:00, the enemy attacked a residential building in the Seredyna-Buda community of the Shostka district with a drone. As a result of the attack, a 59-year-old woman and her two grandsons – boys aged 8 and 11 – were injured,” the statement said.

According to Oleh Hryhorov, Head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, another man was injured in the Sadiv community.

“In the Sadiv community, a 36-year-old man was injured as a result of a hostile drone strike. He was transported by an ambulance crew, received the necessary medical assistance, and will continue treatment on an outpatient basis,” Hryhorov said.

He also specified that the 59-year-old woman and her two young grandsons injured in the Seredyna-Buda community sustained minor injuries and were hospitalized for examination.

According to the head of the regional administration, in the evening the invaders also attacked residential buildings in the Bezdryk and Nyzhnia Syrovatka communities. No casualties were reported.

In addition, throughout the day the enemy attacked civilian vehicles with drones in villages across the region, including in the Stetskivka community. No one was injured, Hryhorov noted.

As reported by Ukrinform, the Russian army shelled the Sumy community, damaging a residential building and a car.
