Dutch Navy escorts suspicious Russian vessels in North Sea

The Royal Netherlands Navy has, for the second time in a short period, escorted Russian ships that were operating in the North Sea.

According to Ukrinform, Dutch Defense Minister Ruben Brekelmans stated this on the social media platform X.

"For the second time in a short period, our navy is escorting Russian ships from the North Sea. We know that these Russian vessels can be used for espionage and for mapping vital infrastructure at sea. That is why we remain vigilant and ready to respond," the statement said.

As Ukrinform previously reported, Dutch Foreign Minister David van Weel stated that Russian attacks on Ukraine's energy infrastructure are leaving millions of civilians without electricity and heat and are creating serious risks to nuclear safety.
