Woman killed in Russian drone strike on Kherson region

A local resident was killed in a Russian drone strike on the village of Sofiivka in the Kherson region.

According to Ukrinform, Head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration Oleksandr Prokudin reported this on Telegram.

“A woman who was attacked by a Russian drone in Sofiivka at around 19:40 today died in hospital. Doctors fought desperately to save the woman, born in 1974, but her injuries proved fatal,” Prokudin wrote.

He also reported that Russian forces killed a resident of the village of Novoberyslav. On January 15, they shelled a house in the village, leaving a 63-year-old man dead under the rubble of his own home.

According to the Kherson City Military Administration, around midday, Russian forces once again shelled residential areas in the settlement of Zelenivka from the temporarily occupied left bank. As a result of the attack, a 28-year-old woman was injured and one private house sustained significant damage.

As reported by Ukrinform, on January 16, Russian forces struck 24 settlements in the Kherson region, including the city of Kherson, leaving one person injured.
