Headquarters for emergency response to operate around clock in Kyiv

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy Denys Shmyhal held the first meeting of the headquarters for responding to the consequences of Russian shelling of energy facilities in Kyiv.

According to Ukrinform, Shmyhal announced this on Telegram.

“Such meetings will be held regularly, and the headquarters will operate 24/7. Our task is to respond quickly and effectively to current challenges to stabilize the energy and heat supply situation. I have given instructions to ensure the continuous operation of the headquarters in Kyiv and the Kyiv region,” the government official wrote.

In particular, at the headquarters meeting, participants heard the latest information on the measures taken by the State Emergency Service, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and representatives of local authorities in Kyiv and the Kyiv region. Additionally, they discussed the necessary steps for the rapid repair of energy facilities, the formation of equipment reserves, and the attraction of international assistance.

Special attention was paid to strengthening the protection of energy infrastructure, but Shmyhal did not provide any details. He noted that the headquarters had drawn up a list of protective measures. Those responsible for organizing the process will also be identified.

As reported, on the evening of January 14, President Volodymyr Zelensky announced the introduction of a state of emergency in Ukraine's energy sector and the establishment of a separate headquarters to address the consequences of the emergency in the capital.
