USF destroys Vityaz air defense radar station in Donetsk region
The Commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces Robert "Madyar" Brovdi stated this on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.
The 50N6E radar station is a key element of the Vityaz system, designed to intercept aircraft and cruise missiles. Production of this air defense system began in 2021 as a replacement for the Buk system.
According to the commander, the Vityaz is an "extremely valuable and serious weapon". The radar station used by this system is capable of detecting and tracking up to 40 targets simultaneously.
As Ukrinform previously reported, the Commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine stated that on New Year's night ten military and infrastructure targets of the aggressor state were hit, including a Tor tactical air defense system.
