Russian strike on bridge in Odesa region: transport links across Dniester partially restored

It is now possible to cross the Dniester River by car, minibus, and small truck; in the near future, conditions for travel along regular routes will also be improved.

This was announced on Telegram by Viktor Mykyta, Deputy Head of the Office of the President, following a meeting with the leadership of the Odesa Regional State Administration, community representatives, and district heads, according to Ukrinform.

“Transport links have already been partially restored, and people can now cross the Dniester River in cars, minibuses, and small trucks. In the next 48 hours, conditions for travel on regular routes will be further improved,” the message says.

According to Mykyta, financial institutions have also resumed normal operations. Banks are operating as usual, and all ATMs are stocked with cash. Post offices have resumed work according to schedule, and pensions, other payments, and correspondence are being delivered as usual.

In addition, grocery stores have resumed the supply of products and goods. The logistics for fuel supply to gas stations have been established. All types of fuel are available at the network of gas stations, the official assured.

Emergency services, police, and others are working in an enhanced mode, ensuring law and order in the field.

Mykyta stressed that the situation in the region is under the personal control of the head of state and the prime minister of Ukraine.

As reported, the mayor of Artsyz in the Odesa region, Serhiy Parpulansky, appealed to the community not to panic over the Russian drone strike on December 18 on the bridge over the Dniester River on the Odesa-Reni highway near the Ukrainian village of Maiaky near the Ukrainian-Moldovan border.
