War update: 128 clashes on front line since morning, more than 50 in Pokrovsk sector

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine stated this on Facebook, providing operational information as of 16:00 on Saturday, December 20, according to Ukrinform.

Russian artillery struck Volfyno, Ryzhivka, Kucherivka, Novovasylivka, Kozache, and Iskryskivshchyna in the Sumy region, as well as Klyusy, Mkhy, Buchky, Hremiach, Khrinivka, and Yanzhulivka in the Chernihiv region.

In the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk sectors, the invaders carried out five attacks since the start of the day. Additionally, Ukrainian positions and settlements were shelled 59 times, including four strikes with multiple launch rocket systems.

In the Southern Slobozhanshchyna sector, ten combat engagements took place. Russian forces attacked in the areas of Vovchansk and Prylipky, toward Izbytske and Hryhorivka.

In the Kupiansk sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled five enemy attacks near Stepova Novoselivka, toward Nova Krugliakivka and Pishchane. One clash is ongoing.

In the Lyman sector, the Russian army attacked Ukrainian positions five times in the areas of Zarichne, Serednie, and Kolodiazy, toward Korovyn Yar. Three clashes are ongoing.

In the Sloviansk sector, the invaders attacked seven times near Dronivka, Siversk, and Vyimka, with four clashes ongoing.

In the Kramatorsk sector, the enemy attacked Ukrainian positions twice near Vasiukivka and Stupochky.

In the Kostiantynivka sector, defenders repelled 15 Russian attempts to breach the defense in the areas of Oleksandro-Shultyne, Pleshchiivka, Yablunivka, and Rusyn Yar, toward Sofiivka.

In the Pokrovsk sector, Russians have already made 52 attempts to push Ukrainian defenders from their positions in Nikanorivka, Shakhove, Myrnohrad, Rodynske, Pokrovsk, Kotlyne, Udachne, Molodetske, Novoserhiivka, and Dachne, toward Novopavlivka. Ukrainian forces are holding back the enemy: 50 attacks have already been repelled.

In the Oleksandrivka sector, defenders stopped 11 Russian assaults in the areas of Filiia, Piddubne, Sosnivka, Verbove, Vyshneve, and Zlahoda.

In the Huliaipole sector, the enemy attempted 11 advances on Ukrainian positions in Varvarivka, Zelene, and Huliaipole. Two clashes are ongoing.

In the Orikhiv sector, defenders repelled two Russian attacks near Shcherbakiv.

Enemy aviation dropped glide bombs on Preobrazhenka.

In the Prydniprovske sector, the invaders made two unsuccessful attempts to approach Ukrainian positions near the Antonivskyi Bridge.

As reported by Ukrinform, Russian forces are attempting to infiltrate Dronivka. Ukrainian paratroopers are destroying the enemy.
