Russian forces strike educational institution in Sumy
According to Ukrinform, the State Emergency Service's office in the Sumy region reported this on Telegram.
"On the night of December 17-18, enemy strike UAVs hit the roof and a wall of an educational institution. The roof on the fourth floor was partially destroyed and a fire broke out. The blast wave shattered windows and doors in the academic building," the statement said.
Rescuers promptly examined the impact site. Identified pockets of fire were quickly extinguished at an early stage using primary firefighting equipment.



According to preliminary information, one person was injured.
Acting Sumy Mayor Artem Kobzar wrote on Telegram that the injured man is a security guard at the institution. He is currently under medical supervision.
"Last night, our city came under an enemy attack by Geran-2-type drones. A hit was recorded at an educational institution. More than 100 windows were damaged, including in nearby apartment buildings," he added.
On December 17, Russian forces carried out more than 50 strikes on the Sumy region, leaving one person wounded.
