Air defenses neutralize 83 drones, two Iskander missiles used in Russia's overnight attack on Ukraine

Ukraine's air defenses neutralized 83 drones and two Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles launched by Russia in an attack that began on the evening of December 10.

The Ukrainian Air Force said this in a post on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.

Beginning at 19:00 on Wednesday, December 10, Russian forces carried out a combined strike on Ukraine's critical infrastructure using attack UAVs and ground-launched missiles.

In total, the Air Force's radar units detected and tracked 154 aerial targets, including:

three Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles (launched from Russia's Kursk region);
151 attack UAVs, including Shahed and Gerbera drones (about 120 of them were Shaheds), launched from areas near Kursk, Oryol, Shatalovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk (Russia), as well as Hvardiiske and Chauda in temporarily occupied Crimea.

The city of Kremenchuk in the Poltava region was the main target of the strike. The Odesa region and frontline areas also came under attack.

The assault was repelled by Ukrainian fighter aircraft, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare units, drone teams, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.

According to preliminary data, as of 10:00 on Thursday, December 11, air defenses destroyed or suppressed 85 aerial targets, including 83 drones and two Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles.

A total of 69 attack drones and one ballistic missile hit 34 locations.
