General Staff debunks Russian fake about capture of Dobropillia in Zaporizhzhia region
According to Ukrinform, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this on Telegram.
“Attention! Russian propaganda is now very actively spreading fakes – supposedly they control Dobropillia near Huliaipole in Zaporizhzhia region. These information attacks by the invaders do not correspond to reality,” the statement reads.
The General Staff noted that, in fact, an enemy sabotage and reconnaissance group infiltrated the outskirts of the village, taking advantage of weather conditions.
“At the moment, this SRG has been destroyed, and the settlement is under the control of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. During counter-sabotage measures, three enemy servicemen were eliminated on the approach to the settlement, and two more –presumably the ones tasked with displaying Russian flags in a village they allegedly ‘captured’ – were neutralized shortly afterward,” the General Staff stressed.
The General Staff also published a video showing Ukrainian soldiers completing their combat mission.
As reported by Ukrinform earlier, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, General Oleksandr Syrskyi, stated that in the Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad areas, Ukrainian units are actively blocking Russian attempts to build up assault infantry groups and advance around these towns.
