Intense fighting on Zaporizhzhia front, Russian forces fail to advance – military spox
This was reported by Vladyslav Voloshyn, Spokesperson for the Defense Forces, of the South, during a live broadcast, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.
According to Voloshyn, over the past day (November 25), 29 combat engagements were recorded on the Zaporizhzhia front, eight of which are still ongoing. The most intense fighting is in the Huliaipole sector, where Russian forces conducted 16 assaults, while in the Oleksandrohrad sector there were 13 attacks. Despite the intensity of the fighting and daily enemy losses of approximately 300 soldiers, the invaders continue to press against Ukrainian defenders.
“The enemy has not advanced, but they are attempting to, closest to Zaporizhzhia — in the area of the settlements of Kamianske, Prymorske, and Plavni, moving toward Stepnohirsk,” Voloshyn said.
He added that distance from Stepnohirsk straight to the outskirts of Zaporizhzhia is about 20 kilometers. The enemy is also likely to try by all means to seize a foothold near this settlement or the settlement itself.
“If they capture the settlement, it would be very difficult to dislodge the enemy, as it can be fortified. That is why they have been trying for nearly six months to enter this settlement and take control, but we are repelling all of these attempts,” the spokesperson assured.
Voloshyn also noted that some residents of Stepnohirsk community remain in the high-risk zone. The military administration and Defense Forces continue efforts to evacuate them and raise awareness about the dangers.
As reported by Ukrinform, the situation around Huliaipole in the southern direction remains extremely tense. Russian forces are increasing the number of assault attacks, attempting to capture settlements and cut off a key logistical route.
