Ukrainian forces capture at least 125 Russian servicemen from Crimea since war started

Since 2014, at least 125 Russian servicemen from occupied Crimea have been taken prisoner, most of whom are likely Ukrainian citizens.

The Office of the President of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea said this in a statement seen by Ukrinform.

"At least 125 Russian servicemen from Crimea have been confirmed captured. Most of them are likely Ukrainian citizens," the statement said.

According to the office, at least 2,237 Russian servicemen from units stationed in Crimea have been killed in the war, 132 of whom are believed to be Ukrainian citizens.

As reported earlier, nearly 53,000 people have been conscripted into the Russian Armed Forces in Crimea since the beginning of the occupation.
