Counteroffensive near Dobropillia disrupted enemy’s summer campaign – Zelensky

The President reported this during a conversation with journalists, according to a Ukrinform correspondent.

“The (Dobropillia) counteroffensive operation is ongoing. We believe it is very difficult but very timely, and we consider it successful. We believe this operation has disrupted the Russian summer offensive campaign,” Zelensky said.

According to him, the AFU operation also affects the defense of Pokrovsk.

“Understanding that they have suffered major losses near Dobropillia, the Russians have now been ordered to capture Pokrovsk urgently — at any cost. This is what we know from intercepted communications and other intelligence. These days, the Russians are losing over 100 of their personnel per day, sometimes up to 200,” the President noted.

He emphasized that the counteroffensive near Dobropillia also disrupted plans the Russians had presented to the U.S. side, according to which they allegedly intended to occupy the Donbas or most of it by November.

“They said by September, and then postponed the deadline to November,” Zelensky clarified.

He also added that the U.S. Administration no longer trusts the Kremlin’s empty statements.

“I believe the information from our Foreign Intelligence Service is important. We think that, as of now, there is no shared vision between the United States and Russia regarding the war. America understands that Russia is lying. And I believe this is important in terms of the future — our partners’ support for our state and the path toward ending the war,” the President remarked.

As Ukrinform reported, earlier, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi stated that some Russian units had become encircled in the Dobropillia direction.
