Russian strikes cause power outages in Konotop and Shostka in Sumy region
According to a statement posted on Facebook by JSC Sumyoblenergo, reported by Ukrinform, the strikes targeted critical infrastructure, prompting emergency repair work.
“Due to Russian army strikes on critical infrastructure and the need for repair operations, electricity will be temporarily cut off for consumers in the city of Konotop, parts of Konotop district, as well as the city of Shostka and Shostka district,” the statement reads.
The affected communities include the Krolevets, Hlukhiv, Yampil, Svesa, and Seredyna-Buda communities.
Repair work is expected to be completed by approximately 19:00, provided there are no further threats from the enemy, energy officials said.
As previously reported by Ukrinform, Shostka and its surrounding district also experienced outages in early September following a Russian strike on critical infrastructure.
