A new armored personnel carrier (APC) offering maximum protection for troops has been developed in Ukraine. The project, prepared with the support of the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine (HUR), has been in the works for more than a year and is now in its final stage.

Oleksandr Dubyna, director of Military Armored Company (MAC) HUB, told this to an Ukrinform correspondent.

"Despite innovations and the widespread use of unmanned and robotic systems, people still need protection — for example, against FPV drone strikes. That is why, in addition to other products, we manufacture armored vehicles that have already proven effective in saving crews under real combat conditions. In the coming weeks, we will present a new development in the field of armored vehicles — the first serially produced vehicle of this class in Ukraine," Dubyna said, noting that until now Ukraine "has not produced armored vehicles of this level."

According to him, the project was developed for more than a year with the assistance of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry's Main Intelligence Directorate, including a special forces officer with the callsign "Deviatyi" ("Ninth"), and is now in its final stage.

Dubyna said that despite the rapid development of unmanned and robotic systems, effective military operations remain impossible without people.

"At the same time, the introduction of innovations can help reduce either the time people spend in the hottest combat zones or the number of personnel present there — ultimately lowering the risks to their lives," Dubyna said.

He added that MAC HUB also produces unmanned systems and naval drones that can be operated from far outside the combat zone, as well as other military equipment integrated with artificial intelligence (AI), including electronic warfare systems.

Dubyna expressed confidence that in the future, Ukraine will be capable of independently covering a significant portion of its defense needs, supported by long-term contracts, adequate funding, and assistance from Western partners.

As reported earlier, about 60% of the weapons and military equipment currently used on the battlefield in Ukraine are produced by private businesses.
