On the Zaporizhzhia front, snipers from the 144th Center of the Special Operations Forces (SOF) of the Armed Forces of Ukraine repelled an enemy assault and cleared trenches of Russian troops who had entered Ukrainian defensive positions.

According to Ukrinform, the SOF reported the incident on Facebook.

“SOF snipers found themselves in the epicenter of the assault and engaged in close-quarters firefight,” the post said.

The report noted that the sniper group, working from the positions of an adjacent unit, came under a massive enemy attack involving artillery, drones, and infantry. As Russian troops broke into Ukrainian positions, the SOF operatives had to set aside their sniper rifles and engage the enemy with grenades, assault rifles, and machine guns while clearing the trenches.

Thanks to the professionalism and coordinated actions of the SOF, the enemy assault was repelled.
