In Chasiv Yar, Donetsk region, Russian occupying forces control only the western part of the city. Ukraine’s Defense Forces continue to hold their positions.

This was reported on television by Viktor Trehubov, spokesperson for the Dnipro operational and strategic group of forces, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.

“In reality, the city (Chasiv Yar – ed.) has not been taken, and Ukrainian positions remain there. Yes, of course, they (the Russians – ed.) are in the western part of the city, meaning that part is under Russian control, unfortunately. But still, the city has not been captured,” Trehubov emphasized.

According to the spokesperson, Russian occupiers are trying to use the situation as an informational pretext to create the illusion of success, as they did previously with the city of Toretsk.

“The Russians, as in the case of Toretsk—which they also supposedly took back in February—are now staying quiet and shifting focus to other directions,” Trehubov added.

He also reported that in the Kramatorsk sector, the Russian army is not conducting large-scale frontal assaults typical of earlier stages of the war. Instead, they are operating in small infantry groups, attempting to infiltrate Ukrainian positions.

“There are no major frontal attacks like the ones we saw, for example, two years ago. It’s more about infantry trying to penetrate Ukrainian positions in one way or another, which is generally characteristic of the entire front line right now,” the spokesperson explained.

As reported by Ukrinform, there were a total of 167 combat engagements between Ukraine’s Defense Forces and Russian troops along the front line in the past day.
