On August 5, Denmark, Norway, and Sweden confirmed they will jointly fund a $500 million package of equipment and ammunition for Ukraine sourced from the United States under the new NATO Prioritized Ukraine Requirements List (PURL) initiative.

Earlier, the Dutch defense minister announced that the Netherlands would be the first NATO member to provide a $500 million package of American weapons systems, including Patriot system components and missiles.

The PURL initiative is a new mechanism focused on supplying Ukraine with weaponry based on a list of its most urgent needs. It enables NATO member states to finance the delivery of U.S. arms and technologies through voluntary contributions.
