Russian airstrike hits apartment buildings in Sumy: 12 civilians injured, including minor

Late on July 21, Russian forces struck the city of Sumy with guided aerial bombs (GABs), injuring a total of 12 people, including a child.

This was reported by the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SES) on Facebook, according to Ukrinform.

According to the SES, three people were wounded as a direct result of the attack, including one child. In total, 12 residents sought medical assistance.

The Russian strike caused significant damage in the city: five apartment buildings were damaged, 18 vehicles were destroyed or affected, a shopping center was also hit.

Rescuers arrived quickly at the site, evacuated residents, rescued two individuals, extinguished fires, and searched the surrounding area for further threats or casualties.

As Ukrinform previously reported, overnight on July 22, Russian forces also struck an apartment building in Kramatorsk, Donetsk region, with a guided aerial bomb, killing a child and injuring five others.
