Ukrainian forces strike two Russian air defense assets in Belgorod region

The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces announced this on Facebook, according to Ukrinform.

The operation was carried out on July 20.

The enemy's S-300P system was successfully hit with long-range firepower, significantly reducing the coverage area of Russia's long-range air defense systems in the region.

A strike on the Nebo-M radar critically impaired its functionality and diminished the operational capabilities of the neighboring 5N66M Big Bird radar station.

According to the General Staff, these coordinated strikes considerably weaken Russia's air defense infrastructure, reducing its ability to shield military units and strategic facilities, and enhancing the effectiveness of Ukrainian operations.

"Weakening these systems directly supports our efforts to reduce Russia's capability to wage war of aggression and to attack peaceful civilians and critical infrastructure in Ukraine. Such strikes directly undermine Russia's ability to project power, protect its forces, and sustain its illegal occupation of Ukrainian territory," the statement reads.
